After studying comedy improvisation at Chicago’s IO (formerly Improv Olympic), Arthur returned to his home state of Louisiana, where he met Yvonne Landry at LaNuit Theater and members of what would eventually become the long form improvisational troupe ColdTowne. Up until Hurricane Katrina in 2005, Arthur was a charter member of ComedySportz New Orleans.
Upon moving to Austin, ColdTowne performed at the Hideout Theater, the original Alamo Drafthouse and festivals such as Out of Bounds, the Phoenix Improv Festival, the Del Close Marathon and the Chicago Improv Festival.
In 2006 they opened their own venue with Chicago-style training, the ColdTowne Theater and Conservatory. The trio anchored weekends for the next few years, winning Best Comedy/Improv Troupe awards from the Austin Chronicle in 2006, 2007 and 2008.
Since then, Arthur has performed, taught and directed improv full time, including “3,2,1 Kill!” video improv, “Buddy Daddy” (with his dog Robin Goodfellow), the Harold troupe “Boy Toy,” “Braised in Texas” and “Array.” In 2007, improv skills helped send Arthur to the Air Guitar Finals in NYC and won him top prize in the first Air Sex World Championship and the O’Henry Pun-Off World Championship.
